Ok already a short blogette for anyone willing and able to listen whoops read.
Been going down memory lane a bit recently when I have time from hula hooping, online scrabble and my inevitable counting. Well continuing the counting theme I am making a list of memorable live musical performers and performances I have enjoyed - its a great exercise as with each short memory comes the bigger picture of that memory why not try it.
For example I started with Mahalia Jackson at the Beaulieu Jazz festival and Paul Robson in London at the Seymour Hall baths. He was a great man and fearless activist in his time.
Just added last night Jose Feliciano,1967 and do you know they the Brits wouldnt let him bring his guide dog into the country he actually wrote a song "No Dogs Allowed" I can hear him now. His childhood was spent listening to Wes Montgomery and Andres Segovia - now theres a story - I was backstage at the newly built Ashcroft theatre in Croydon and we shared this area with the Fairfield Halls next door and there was Segovia playing his guitar all alone I promptly sat on the floor entranced. Take a listen to all three of these masters.
Cant follow that so thats enough typing for today -
